Applications Open: Women In The Studio National Accelerator 2026
Music Publishers Canada (MPC) is now accepting applications for our 2026 Women in the Studio National Accelerator.
Celebrating its eighth year and boasting 48 talented alumni, the Accelerator is designed to provide the cohort with skills development and networking opportunities that may otherwise be inaccessible to them.
The program will focus on topics including technical and songwriting skills and branding and financial literacy and will offer opportunities for creative collaborations.
The Accelerator will run from June to October 2026 with virtual sessions and workshops and an in-person residency over five days in the summer in Toronto (*exact dates TBD). If you have any commitments for the summer that might interfere with your ability to travel for five days in a row, please include details in your application.
This program is intended for producers who are already producing for others, have mid- to high-level proficiency in a DAW (digital audio workstation) such as Ableton, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or similar programs, and have songwriting and co-writing experience.
To qualify, candidates must be:
1. A mid- to high-level working producer-songwriter who primarily produces for others (indicate proficiency in at least one DAW)
2. Able to provide a streamable link to 3 examples of works they have produced 100% (co-productions do not qualify). Submitted works must also meet both of the following requirements:
At least two of the submitted tracks must be co-written by the candidate
At least two of the submitted tracks must be works produced for other artists by the candidate
3. A Canadian resident (must be able to provide proof of residency)
4. Identify as a woman and/or non-binary person
5. Available to be in Toronto for up to five days of in-person programming during the summer (official dates TBC). If you have any commitments that might interfere with your ability to participate, we encourage you to state what and when.
Applications will be accepted online until Monday, February 9, 2026 at 5pm ET, and can be submitted either by the candidate directly, or on behalf of a candidate by a representative (e.g. manager, publisher, or other team member) who has confirmed that the candidate is interested and able to participate in all aspects of the program.
Applications are reviewed by an external jury, and selected candidates will be invited to proceed to an interview. We encourage applications from individuals who have historically been underrepresented in these spaces and who remain so today.
The Women in the Studio National Accelerator 2026 is supported by RBC, FACTOR and the Government of Canada, and Ontario Creates. MPC would also like to thank Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP and Compass Rose Group.
Application deadline: Monday, February 9, 2026 at 5pm ET
