Active Member
A Class A voting membership, also known as an Active membership, is available to any person, firm, partnership or corporation that owns and/or administers one or more music publishing catalogues of musical works of which they are not the author and which catalogues are in active use in Canada, whose principal place of business is in Canada and who shall have paid the fees prescribed for this class of membership. In the foregoing sentence, the term “author” is interpreted as having the same meaning as when used in the Copyright Act.

Associate Member
A Class B voting membership, also known as an Associate membership, is available to any person, firm, partnership or corporation who has a general interest in the business of music publishing, whose principal place of business is in Canada and who shall have paid the fees prescribed for this class of membership.

Foreign Member (non-voting)
Any corporation from outside of Canada who has a general interest in the business of music publishing, and does business in Canada

NXTGen
Any junior-level professionals with less than 10 years of experience in the industry, currently employed at music MPC member companies, including Active, Associate, or Foreign members

In 2022, MPC created a new membership level called NXTGen created to foster the next generation of music publishing leaders across the country, representing all intersections of industry professionals.

Regular updates on advocacy and industry events. In addition, receive exclusive industry-related updates from MPC, the Digital Data Exchange (DDEX) and the International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP) Weekly Wrap.

Active and Associate Members of MPC can make nominations for the Board of Directors, have voting privileges in the Annual General Meeting, and can join the various Committees that help steer MPC’s activities. We are pleased to add a new NextGen Membership Category to develop our next generation of music publishing professionals.
