Canadian CREATE Delegation attends Amsterdam Dance Event for inaugural visit
From October 21 to 26, Music Publishers Canada (MPC) organized a CREATE trade mission to Amsterdam, Netherlands. The mission was focused around Amsterdam Dance Event, an important festival and conference for the electronic music genre. The CREATE program is a music publishing export initiative developed by MPC that connects music publishers, and the songwriters they invest in, with key business and creative contacts in global markets.
A select group of our Canadian music publishers and their partners from the Netherlands was invited to Ambassador Hugh Adsett’s residence in The Hague to discuss how Canadian songs travel around the world in the age of AI. The full delegation also partnered with the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers (IAEL) during the ADE conference.
Thank you to Ambassador Hugh Adsett for hosting us during our CREATE Amsterdam trade mission. Thank you also to Adam Barbolet, Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service, and FACTOR and the Government of Canada for their support of CREATE Amsterdam at ADE.
