There are 16 seats available on the MPC board. Each board member will serve a term of two years, starting on June 3, 2026. Candidates are listed in alphabetical order by last name.

Jennifer Beavis - BMG Music Publishing

Jennifer Beavis is a seasoned music publishing professional with over 33 years of industry experience, following her graduation from Fanshawe College’s Music Industry Arts program in 1993. Her lifelong passion for music—shaped early on by immersive listening experiences and a deep appreciation for jazz, blues, and 1960s music—has driven a distinguished and multifaceted career.

Jennifer has held senior roles with leading global and independent organizations, including BMG, EMI, and Nettwerk Productions. She served as Director of Copyright at the Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA), followed by Director of Publishing and Licensing Administration at Nettwerk, and later as Executive Director of the Songwriters Association of Canada. At ole (now Anthem Entertainment), she was Senior Director of Administration, where she built and led a team of seven, managed day-to-day publishing operations, and played a key role in catalogue acquisitions. 

Since 2010, Jennifer has operated Librascor Copyright Consulting, providing publishing administration services to clients such as Arts & Crafts Productions, 604 Records, and C2W Music Limited. Her work has also included music supervision for ET Canada and Entertainment One, as well as ongoing projects with Zoomer Media since 2017.

In 2013, Jennifer was appointed BMG’s exclusive representative in Canada for synchronization and copyright administration. In 2021, she was elected to the SOCAN Board of Directors, where she currently serves her second term and chairs the Tariff, Licensing and Distribution Committee.

A committed industry leader, Jennifer is a founding member of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and has served on multiple boards and committees, including the Canadian Music Publishers Association, the Canadian Country Music Awards, and Durham College’s Music Business Management program. She is also a sought-after speaker, delivering lectures on copyright and publishing both in Canada and internationally

Melissa Cameron-Passley - Kilometre Music Group

Melissa Cameron-Passley is the Director of Creative & Operations at Kilometre Music Group, where she oversees A&R, programming, partnerships, and operations. With a strong focus on fostering creative and business relationships, she supports both established and emerging talent. 

Melissa’s work has fueled major global creative successes, supporting chart-toppers such as The Weeknd, Tate McRae, OZ (Drake, Travis Scott, Future), Aaron Paris (Ariana Grande, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Drake), Prince 85 (The Weeknd, Metro Boomin’), and Lowell (Beyoncé, The Beaches, Charlie XCX). She brings extensive industry experience, including managing the creative team at SOCAN, Canada's largest rights management organization for music, and serves on the board of Music Publishers Canada as well as The Recording Academy’s NY Chapter Member Engagement Committee. 

Stephen J. Dallas - Universal Music Publishing

Stephen J. Dallas is Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, Global Digital Strategy & Business Development, for Universal Music Publishing Group. In this role, Stephen is responsible for creating and exploring new digital business opportunities on behalf of UMPG’s songwriters and stakeholders, negotiating and drafting content license agreements with third party digital service providers, recommending digital strategy and policy initiatives for the company, handling the negotiation and drafting of core publishing deals, working with worldwide music publishing rights and trade organizations, and coordinating and managing digital and core publishing litigation matters.

Stephen previously served as Vice President, Digital Legal Affairs & Business Development at Warner/Chappell Music, Inc., and prior to that, as Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs, for EMI Music Publishing.  Before EMI, Stephen was an Associate in private practice at law firms Thelen, Reid & Priest, LLP, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Stephen earned his J.D. from New York Law School, and a B.S. in Communications from Boston University.

Vince Degiorgio - Cymba Music Publishing

Vincent Degiorgio is the CEO of CYMBA Music Publishing. 

His company, CYMBA, is an acronym for ‘Crushing Your Music Business Apathy’ is one of the most pro-active, creative music publishing entities in Canada. With unprecedented global reach and a focus on the international market for recorded music and synch, it is home for writers and artists such as Shred Kelly, Oleyada, Absolute Losers, Logan Richard, Corey LeRue, and the JUNO Award-winning band, MONOWHALES.

Songs written by CYMBA’s songwriters have been recorded in over a dozen languages and synchronized around the world. CYMBA’s writer/producer roster includes Daniel Adams and Chris Kirby. Aside from being president of the company, Vincent is also a songwriter. His work with Dutch pop star Caro Emerald recently eclipsed the two million album threshold. He has also co-written seminal classics like Love Inc’s “You’re A Superstar”. He most recently wrote four songs with JUNO-nominated Matt Dusk on his Jet Set Jazz album. Working on the major label side as an A&R executive at RCA Records Vincent signed NSYNC to the label. He is the current treasurer for the Music Publishers Canada board following his six year tenure as chair.

Amy Eligh - Arts & Crafts Music

Amy Eligh began her career in Publishing at Casablanca Media/Red Brick Songs in the Copyright and Royalties department, before moving into Creative – where she successfully stationed herself for over a decade before moving to Arts & Crafts Music. Within her role as Vice President of Publishing & Licensing, Amy pitches large-scale catalogue of songs for film, trailers, advertising, video games, and TV (US & Canada) as well as oversees the day to day within the department. 

In addition to pitching, Amy organizes showcases for clients/songwriters with TV networks, music supervisors, and advertisers. She also develops new writers, arranges co-writing sessions, coordinates and hosts song-writing camps, scouts for talent and creates new business opportunities for the company.

At Arts & Crafts Music, Amy works with Broken Social Scene, Dear Rouge, Old Man Saxon, Marcus Paquin, Dan Mangan, Steve Bays, Cary Brothers, Young Friend, David Vertesi, Jordan Klassen, Sylo, and many more. Amy is also on the Board of Directors for Music Publishers Canada and FACTOR. 

Jodie Ferneyhough - CCS Rights Management

In 2011, Jodie founded CCS Rights Management with a vision of a dynamic global independent company that puts artists and songwriters first, providing individualized attention and a full range of services to maximize income, elevate careers, and protect the value of their works.

Under his leadership, CCS has experienced continuous growth and significantly expanded its global reach and scope of services provided to a growing roster of award-winning and up-and-coming songwriters, artists, musicians, producers, and labels, as well as major corporate brands and other rights holders.

The company manages more than 150,000 copyrights and specializes in publishing administration, royalty collections, creative services, neighbouring rights administration, and music licensing for film, TV advertising, games and other media.

Chris Giansante - Just For You Music

Chris Giansante is the Founder & CEO of Canadian-based independent and boutique music publishing company, Just For You Music.   

A music industry veteran, Chris is the former SVP of Canada’s largest independent music publishing company, Anthem Entertainment (formerly ole), where he oversaw the company’s global finance and operations which included a team of over 60 professionals.  While at Anthem, Chris was critically involved in over US$1-billion of successful transactions across a combination of corporate finance and M&A (e.g. music catalogues such as super-producer Timbaland, iconic rock band Rush, and Sony Pictures Entertainment, amongst many others), led operational integration of multiple company acquisitions, and the successful development and implementation of its leading-edge proprietary technology platform, Conductor, of which he is a co-inventor for the patent pending system.  

Chris holds an MBA from the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor, a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Business Administration, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA). Chris is a Director on the Board of Music Publishers Canada and former Director of CMRRA, and Anthem Entertainment.  

Mark Jowett - Nettwerk Music Group

Mark Jowett co-founded the Nettwerk Music Group over 40 years ago and oversaw the development of Nettwerk Music Publishing. Over the years the company published Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, Sinead O'Connor, Mother Mother, and many others, with offices in the US and UK. 

Mark really believes in the importance of collective action and good that boards like Music Publishers Canada can do, and that this is especially important in an age where the publishing (and writer) business is threatened with AI, low streaming rates, and consolidation. He hopes to re-engage with his fellow board members for another term, and work with the board on taking decisive action on these key issues.

Mark's commitment to music is widespread, as he is also on the SOCAN Board, and continues to play indie music as well as cello in the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra.  

Craig Horton - Horton Music

An alumnus of Fanshawe College and Western University in London Ontario in the 1980’s, Craig Horton has been an active member of the entertainment business for more than four decades. Directly out of university, he worked in PROCAN’s Vancouver office for four years as Member Services Representative for Western Canada.  Seeing a need in the market, he then established Horton Music Publishing as Western Canada’s only truly independent music publishing administrator. Horton Music Publishing had no direct ties to a record label, artist manager, or recording studio, which gave it greater flexibility to serve the entire creative community. Horton’s diverse client list included the Larry Wanagas/Bumstead catalogue with writers k.d. lang, Glen Stace and Blue Shadows, Will Millar of the Irish Rovers, and a laundry list of songwriters, small publishers and labels, and artist managers. During its first decade, Horton established rights consulting relationships with clients including Colin James, Paul Dean of Loverboy and was nominated as Publisher of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association. 

In 2004, Horton Music was set aside when Craig was recruited by Nettwerk Music Group to assist with publishing administration, where over time he was promoted to Senior Director of Rights Administration and Business Affairs, working with Mark Jowett, Terry McBride, and Ric Arboit for more than 12 years. During his time at Nettwerk he also served as a member of the Board of Directors for SOCAN, the CMRRA, and the SOCAN Foundation where he contributed as Treasurer for SOCAN, Chair of the Finance Committee for CMRRA, and served on numerous other committees. After leaving Nettwerk he consulted for SOCAN in their transition into Reproduction Rights during and after their acquisition of SODRAC. 

Craig is a strong proponent of the importance of understanding copyright and the matrix of revenue streams available to creators. He continues to oversee international administration of catalogues and rights for a handful of Canadian creators, publishers, and labels and looks forward to assisting in the development of the next cohort of music publishers in Canada’s vibrant music scene as a member of the Board of Directors of Music Publishers Canada.

Rell Lafargue - Reservoir Media Management

As Reservoir’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Rell oversees all aspects of the company’s day-to-day operations in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, London, Toronto, Abu Dhabi, and Mumbai. When Rell joined Reservoir at its inception, the company represented four songwriters and 2,000 songs. Building on over twenty years of industry experience, Rell built the company’s infrastructure, assembled its Creative and Synch teams, established its administration systems, and developed the international network that oversees Reservoir’s copyrights to this day. 

Rell continues to spearhead Reservoir’s international and domestic expansion efforts, having overseen the acquisitions and integrations of the historic Shapiro Bernstein catalog, TVT Music Publishing catalog, First State Media Group catalog, UK publishers Reverb Music and P&P Songs, and iconic record labels Chrysalis Records, Tommy Boy Music, and Philly Groove Records. Additionally, Rell was instrumental in signing Nate “Danja” Hills, one of the company’s first high-profile writer-producers, to the Reservoir roster.

Prior to his time at Reservoir, Rell was Vice President at TVT Records and TVT Music Publishing, where he worked with artists including Nine Inch Nails, Lil Jon, Snoop Dogg, Scott Storch, and Pitbull.   

Rell has consistently been named a Billboard Power Player, as well as being previously recognized on the Indie Power Players and R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players lists. Rell serves on the board of the International Confederation of Music Publishers, Mechanical Licensing Collective, and Music Publishers Canada, working to promote the interests of music publishers and their songwriting partners. He also previously served on the board of the Association of Independent Music Publishers—NY Chapter. Beyond his career in music publishing, Rell is an accomplished producer, performer, arranger, software consultant, and university lecturer. He holds a master’s degree in Music Business and Entertainment Industries from the University of Miami.   

Daniel Lafrance - Éditorial Avenue

For the past forty years, Daniel Lafrance has been an active music publisher. Since 2000, he has been the General Manager of Editorial Avenue, a major francophone music publishing enterprise based in Montreal.

He was Vice-President of SODRAC from 1990 to 2008, Vice-President of MUSICACTION from 1992 to 1996, Secretary and Treasurer of ADISQ from 1985 to 1996, Founder and President of APEM/PMPA from 2003 to 2011 and Board Member of CMRRA from 2009 to 2019. Daniel Lafrance is now a Board Member of the following organizations: MPC, SOCAN, and SODEC’s “Commission du Disque, du Spectacle et des Varietes”.

He is an Honorary Member of ADISQ and has been recognized nine times as Publisher of the Year by this association. He also received the Christopher J. Reed Award in 2013 for his career achievements and two awards from SOCAN as publisher of the year in 2017 and 2020. Daniel Lafrance wrote two books on publishing released in 2018 and 2022.

Tom Leighton - Anthem Music Group

Tom Leighton is Vice President, Licensing at Anthem Entertainment. With over 10 years of industry experience in both publishing and recorded music, Tom has extensive knowledge of the global music business, royalty collections, and technology platforms. During his tenure at Anthem Entertainment, he has worked across the industry to maximize royalty collections and reinforce the value of music on behalf of songwriters and artists.

Jennifer Mitchell - Red Brick Songs

Jennifer Mitchell is the founder and CEO of Red Brick Songs Inc., a global independent music publishing company celebrating its 25th year in the industry. Jennifer is the Vice Chair of the Board of SOCAN; the Chair of the Board of Music Publishers Canada and serves on the Board of Directors of both IMPEL (a global music publishing licensing collective) and the Independent Music Publishers Forum (a global Board for Independent Music Publishers). She also sits on the Independent Music Advisory Committee (IPAC) for the NMPA in the U.S.

Eric Nguyen - Create Music Group

Aideen O’Brien - Skyship Entertainment

 Growing up in Cork, the daughter of Brendan O’Brien, lead singer of Ireland's beloved showband, The Dixies, Aideen O’Brien was surrounded by music from the day she was born. Her mother was in musical theatre and her uncle; Glen Curtin was a musical success in cabaret venues throughout Ireland and many parts of the US.

Aideen stands as a leading figure in the dynamic landscape of the entertainment industry, with a career spanning almost three decades. From traditional song publishing with Carlin America and BMG to pioneering advancements in music data tracking and artist management, Aideen's impact echoes across continents and genres. From Ireland to Canada and into Nashville, Aideen has worked with local indie performers and writers to great success, including breaking The Wilkinsons in Nashville, tour guiding Jully Black in the UK, securing singers into movie roles and MGM Garden Arena performances in Las Vegas, as well as hundreds of hours of TV and film production music with Entertainment One, and coaching multiple small businesses on their IP Assets.

Aideen currently oversees all Music IP Management for Toronto based Skyship Entertainment. With over 82 billion YouTube views, Skyship is home to some of the most well known and most loved children’s content on YouTube. It’s been almost a decade of sharing songs and stories on multiple platforms, continuing the mission of making enriching and educational content available to children in every corner of the globe.

Aideen's expertise in strategy is honed through years of multifaceted roles encompassing marketing artists, music catalogue sales, and change management as eOne grew from a small, independent company in 2010 to the global success that led to its sale to Hasbro in 2020.

As Director of Music Publishing & Supervision at Entertainment One, she left an indelible mark, uncovering an extensive amount of hidden and unclaimed revenue streams, optimizing operational efficiency. Fearlessly challenging the status quo, she champions bold ideas and steers them to fruition with unwavering determination. Her contributions extend beyond boardrooms, as she shared her knowledge and experience teaching at the Toronto Film School and many Industry Conference panels.

Aideen's commitment to community and innovation is also evidenced by her contributions as founding Board Member of the Canadian Songwriter Hall of Fame and work with industry boards CARAS, Music Publisher Canada, SOCAN Foundation and others.

Aideen's journey continued as she launched her own chapter with Mighty Craic Music, applying her Honours Diploma in Music Industry Management, she integrates creativity with business acumen. She draws on her collaboration with BMAT, which introduced cutting-edge data tracking systems and revolutionizing revenue collection for artists and producers worldwide into her repertoire.

Central to Aideen's success is her phenomenal ability to build and nurture relationships. She easily cultivates a rapport and trust with clients and colleagues, laying the groundwork for enduring partnerships, forging genuine connections that transcend cultural boundaries and inspire creativity to flourish.

Diane Pinet - Bloc-Notes Music Publishing

Diane Pinet is Founder and President of Bloc-Notes Music Publishing since 1987. She has vast experience in publishing and an extensive knowledge of the music industry, having touched on various aspects of the it (booker, show producer, etc). She is currently serving on the boards of SOCAN, SOCAN Foundation, MPC, NMC (Studio Bell), PAN M 360, and several other associations. Diane has participated as a panelist on many conferences, both internationally and locally, at events such as CMC Music, MIDEM, MaMa in France etc.

Often referred to by its writers as innovative, Bloc-Notes Music is known for its privileged ties in Canada and abroad. Diane has won several Felix Awards (equivalent of JUNO Awards) for Publisher of the Year, SOCAN Awards, SOCAN Publisher of The Year 2021, 2022, 2023, and has received many gold and platinum records. Bloc-Notes Music’s repertoire of writers has written hits for the likes of Céline Dion, Faith Hill, Garou, Marie Mai, SOMMM, Dee Holt, and many others. It boasts music placement in ads such as Pepsi, Coke, Walmart, Nutella, etc. Bloc-Notes Music’s catalogue is extremely diverse with varying styles from electronic to pop, rock to hop-hop, French to English. Since its beginnings, the company’s roster has consistently topped the charts.  

David Quilico - Sony Music Publishing Canada

Neville Quinlan - peermusic Canada

Neville Quinlan, Managing Director of Peermusic Canada, has worked in all fields of music publishing since 1999; holding positions in Copyright and Royalty Administration, Creative Management, and International Relations. Peermusic Canada represents many of Canada’s top artists and writers, including The Tragically Hip, Sarah McLachlan, Lido Pimienta, Death From Above 1979, Hawksley Workman, Kathleen Edwards, July Talk, The Dead South, Arnold Lanni, The Jerry Cans, Corey Hart, Brendan Canning, Royal Wood, Kate and Anna McGarrigle, The Girl on a Horse catalogue, and Hannah Georgas; as well as sub publishing many international stars and catalogues such as Tom Waits, the Wise Music catalogue, Big Deal Music, Beggars Music, Sugar Music, Modern Works, Mothership Music, Megatrax, and Four Jays (Harry Warren).  Neville is the chair of the CMRRA publisher’s committee, a board member of Music Publishers Canada, and is a past board member of SX Works, SOCAN and the SOCAN Foundation.

Peter Rosenthal - Warner Chappell Music

Peter Rosenthal is Executive Vice President, Global Legal and Business Affairs & General Counsel for Warner Chappell Music (WCM), the global music publishing arm of Warner Music Group.

Appointed to this newly created position in March 2022, Peter is responsible for setting the strategic vision for the company's global legal department, leading a team of more than forty professionals across ten countries. His role also involves helping to drive financial and business operations, advising on legislation that impacts music publishing, and liaising with performing rights organizations and other industry groups. He reports directly to WCM's Co-Chairs, CEO Guy Moot and COO Carianne Marshall.

Before joining Warner Chappell, he served as General Counsel for Downtown Music Holdings from 2018 to 2022 during a period of enormous growth and transformation, where he oversaw global legal and business affairs, including digital licensing, litigation, and corporate acquisitions.  Prior to his time at Downtown, Peter was a Partner at Ritholz Levy Fields LLP in New York, a law firm specializing in entertainment, media, and technology. His earlier career included roles as Counsel at Playboy Enterprises, and as a corporate and technology lawyer at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP in Palo Alto and San Francisco, California, and Bingham, Dana & Gould in Boston, Massachusetts.

Peter currently serves on the Board of Music Publishers Canada and is an active member of several committees of the National Musical Publishers Association in the U.S.  He earned a J.D., cum laude, from the Boston University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Review and studied at St. Catherine’s College, University of Oxford, and a B.A. in English and Philosophy from Oberlin College.

Sue Snyder - Third Side Music

Sue Snyder brings more than two decades of experience in the arts to her role as General Manager at Third Side Music, where she oversees the full scope of daily business operations.

Third Side Music is a 100% independently owned music publishing company headquartered in Montreal. TSM is proud to represent top Canadian talent, including Wolf Parade, Colin Stetson, BADBADNOTGOOD, Galt MacDermot, and Beverly Glenn-Copeland, as well as international acts such as Sofi Tukker, Kurt Vile, Courtney Barnett, and Cults. During her time at TSM, the roster has grown to include rising Canadian stars such as NOBRO, La Sécurité, and Ribbon Skirt, as well as respected international artists such as Sky Ferreira, Surf Curse, Guided By Voices, and Hermanos Gutiérrez.

Throughout her career, Sue has held leadership positions across a broad range of disciplines, including production, touring, stage, and operations management. She has also contributed to the field as an arts critic and jury member and has served as Vice-President on the board of a non-profit arts organization, giving her direct insight into organizational governance and strategic oversight. She is genuinely excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on MPC's mission.

Pierre Tremblay - Hyvetown Music

Pierre Tremblay is President of Hyvetown Music Publishing and has over 30 years of wide-reaching experience in the music industry.

In 2008, he co-founded Hyvetown Music Publishing with the goal of creating a writer-friendly boutique publishing house. Since then, Pierre has travelled extensively with a strong focus on global markets to pursue new opportunities for Hyvetown’s growing roster of writers. Recent cuts for Hyvetown writers include Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Dua Lipa’s “Training Season”, Charlie XCX’s “Yuck” and Morgan Wallen’s “Love Somebody”. Pierre has also made a mission of exporting the talents of Hyvetown writers to Asian markets where he has found success in the K-Pop, J-Pop and C-Pop worlds. 

Pierre began his career in the music industry while attending Queens University, becoming Director of campus entertainment bookings. From 1991 to 1995, Pierre was a talent booker for MCA concerts in Montreal and Toronto when he was promoted as Director of West Coast Operations in Vancouver. From this position, Pierre oversaw Western Canadian arena and theatre tours for the likes of Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Bon Jovi, Barenaked Ladies, and Sarah McLachlan.

In 1997, Pierre joined Nettwerk Music Group as Senior Vice President of Management. During his 12 years at Nettwerk, Pierre was the lead manager for many top acts including Barenaked Ladies, Billy Talent, Moist, and Shawn Hook.

In 2009, Pierre left Nettwerk to launch Hive Management, a global artist management company which he still runs today.

Pierre served as a CARAS board member from 2002 - 2008, and was appointed co-chair of the Juno TV and Talent Committee during his tenure. He has worked with various global relief efforts during the entirety of his career, including Oxfam’s initiatives in Africa.

Daniel Turcotte - Monstercat
